Honeycomb – Nid d’abeille

Concept: This paperweight is the purest expression of excellence and the history of Saint-Louis. Inspired by a model from 1848, its shape revisits that of a beehive because bees „whose work is that of joy“ (Victor Hugo, The Imperial Mantle) are a symbol of craftsmanship and can be seen in the Saint-Louis coat of arms. A small being whose sting is painful, yet is also a metaphor for love. This precious paperweight, a tribute to the hands that shaped it, will become a talisman that protects its owner just like the small but mighty insect that it symbolizes.

Die Wabe wird aus einem Millefiori hergestellt, der in seiner Mitte den Saint-Louis-Jahrgang zart umrahmt. Sichelmondförmige Stäbchen sprießen zu einem Bienenstock. Im Licht beleuchtet, enthüllt ein subtiles Transparenzspiel das tiefe, intensive Saint-Louis-Blau im Hintergrund.
