Original text of Saint-Louis:
A prince in Western tradition, symbol of prosperity and an indicator
of approaching weather in the East, the toad is an animal rich in
symbolism all over the world. Created using a blowtorch, the very
realistic toad is suspended over a bed of millefiori representing a
French-style garden. The paperweight’s crown is cut from the same
crystal sphere and gilded with fine 24-carat gold.
